A Christmas Carol is a Theatre & Dance tradition. We produce the show once every four years so that every theatre student has the experience at least once in their college career. Our version of the script was first produced at the Guthrie Theatre. The story of Scrooge is bookended by scenes with Charles Dickens and his family.

The cast for the show is normally around 50 actors, including 8-10 children playing the Dickens kids, Boy Ebenezer and his sister Fan, and the Cratchit kids. Nearly the entire department is involved!  And with that large of a cast, scheduling and working around conflicts is an adventure, to say the least.

The production also meets the holiday-season desire for "more" in terms of the technical components. With over 100 props, two elevators--one for Marley and one for a tombstone--, special effect microphones, and a Ghost of Christmas Present more glorious each year.

I have stage managed the production 3 times since coming to UWL. In 2022, I passed the reins to a graduating senior so I could manage the new youth protection procedures and the 75 background checks that would be required.
